I'm so very disappointed. This was previously published in the book, Strangers In The Night. I love Linda Howard's books and have read almost everything she's written, so when this came along on pre-order I jumped on it. Much to my profound disappointment I realized very quickly that I had read it previously. I have the book Strangers In The Night on my Kindle and also have the hardback book. I have been burned before, so I went through the long, long list of books in my Kindle and didn't see the title, "Lake of Dreams", so I bought it. Heck, I can't remember every title of every book I've read. Now, Strangers in the Night sells for the huge price of $15.99 and it's an old book. So be careful.

I enjoyed this story so much, this is the second time I've read it. I liked the thought that you can try again if you don't get it right in the first lifetime. Great book and highly recommend.
A romance with a very interesting twist on classic fairy tales. The suspense is psychological but real, and of course, the requisite Happy Ever After! A short but very nice read that will leave you smiling.

This story was ridiculous. I have no problems with fantastic fiction-but this story was boring and too outrageous. I normally love this author but this book was a huge disappointment. It felt as if it were written by someone else!
Greetings. I greatly enjoyed this novella. I originally read the paperback version as part of a trilogy, but this stand alone version was a fun quick read. The intertwining mystery of the past and present events made it into a fascinating journey to uncover the truth. The steamy love scenes created a tension between the present day characters, forming an instant relationship that would lead to forever or disaster. The events took place over a couple days, but it was full of sexual tension and romance. I liked the book and greatly enjoyed the read.
This was a very short story and I didn't see where it was billed as such when I bought it. Thought I was getting a really great deal on a great author's book. Then, I had trouble sticking with it. It felt like there were parts missing. All in all a disappointment.
Great story, although a little too short for me. I would've really loved a longer more drawn out story between Thea and Richard. Maybe where she doesn't give into him right away and the secrets aren't exposed so quickly. This book reminded me of Kay Hooper's Finding Laura, which I really loved! I normally enjoy Linda Howard's books even if they are short.
