Every time I finish a book by Kati Wilde I’m like, “I need more books from her”. Unfortunately, I’ve read all there is to read (insert crying desolately emoji here).

The King’s Horrible Bride is a fun, sweet and incredibly hot story. Maximilian has devoted the last 12 years to getting his kingdom out of the disastrous state his father left it in. Finally having achieved this, he can now focus on fulfilling his promise to the man who made his success possible by marrying his daughter. Now the only thing he needs is to meet her.

Victoria has been in love with her King since she was 16 and he ascended the throne. Their betrothal only strengthened this love and she has spent the last 12 years cultivating herself to be the perfect queen and companion for His Majesty. Maybe if the king had ever shown any interest in her or what she’d been doing, she wouldn’t find herself considering that maybe he will never come to claim her or if she even wants him to at this point. I freaking loved Victoria, she was true to herself and her feelings from the very beginning. She was loyal, sweet and completely devoted to her king even if she is disappointed in his treatment of her. With one look, Maximilian is hooked and the more time he spends with Victoria, the surer he is of her being his perfect match.

Maximilian was the epitome of Darcy-ness: serious, focused and with no time for nonsense. That is until he realizes the love of his life might be slipping through his fingers, and he goes all out in his efforts to charm her by any means necessary. Oh, and did I mention he had a filthy mouth and was uber hot?

I enjoyed The King’s Horrible Bride immensely. The characters had depth, I was hooked from start to finish and it gave me all the feels. Sexy, scorching hot, funny and incredibly sweet, this is one story I already want to re-read and it’s definitely going into my favorites-of-2018-list.

I thought I will give it 5 stars, it was going so well, but it ended like this. 🙄 And not because the story was bad or anything. After all I planned to give it 5 stars after all. It just h was too lost in herself and didn't tried to look at things from H point. I don't say she was wrong 100%. She has her points, when h and H finally talked things out. But still her pain and suffering felt for me over the top. She was focused on the past and focused on herself so much, that she could had lost everything.
I love Kati Wilde's work. She isn't as prolific as some of the kindle unlimited authors, but when she releases a book I tend to buy it because I have been known to reread them. This is a cute addition to her work. It's part of a set all released at the same time (although truth be told her's was a touch delayed). That was okay, it gave me time to read the other 3. Of the quartet I enjoyed her's the most. The king and his fiance have been betrothed for 12 years and don't know each other. They've only met a few times in the past. There are some misunderstandings and lack of communication that provided interesting plot. She writes romance well and the interaction between the characters is enjoyable. I was pleased to see how well she wrapped it up and explained the characters motivation. All in all, well worth the read (and likely reread).
After reading the little novella by AR, I realized that this was a series, so I had to click the next one. This is my first book by Kati, and I really enjoyed it.

This book is much different than the other one I read. It’s a lot of detail, and if you aren’t paying attention, you will miss something. Maximilian’s goal for the last twelve years has been to clean up the mess his father left behind. Now, he’s ready to claim his bride, even though the odds are stacked against them.

Victoria has been waiting on Maximilian for the last twelve years. She has done everything she can to prepare, and now, she is ready to become the queen. Although, Victoria is quickly realizing that not everything is as it seems.

This book is good, but there are parts that frustrated me too. Victoria did everything to prepare for Maximilian, but he wasn’t ready for her. She literally had to knock him down in order for him to see what was right in front of him. It’s a good read with a cute little HEA.
I really enjoyed this sweet novella. I've loved each of these 4-book series with these 4 authors, but in the last batch Kati's was my favorite by far (The Midwinter Mail-Order Bride). This time, I've only read 3 of the 4 so far, but I really loved this story, and the idea of this couple and how they came together.

King Maximilian has been solely focused on the running of his country, and his duties as king, for the last 12 years. Though he's been betrothed for that entire time, to the daughter of his country's greatest benefactor, he's left her to live her life in relative peace, until he was ready to make her his queen. But, he has no idea what he's been missing with her.

Victoria is 28 years old, and she's been betrothed to the young king since he first ascended to the throne 12 years ago. She was only 16 when she agreed to eventually be his queen, but she had no idea how long "eventually" would turn out to be. She's lived her life in service to her country, as best she can, waiting for her King to come and claim her.

Maximilian and Victoria had a TON of chemistry and I loved watching them come together after such a long betrothal and separation. I hurt with Victoria when their issues came up, and I wanted to go back in time and smack His Majesty around to make him see what he was missing out on, but I loved watching them fall in love.

I highly recommend this novella, and the others in the series as well. They are all fully standalone, and can be enjoyed in any order!
