This is the first book in a trilogy that begins with a shy young girl who spends a lot of time online. When she meets someone she believes to be a kindred spirit, they start chatting regularly and soon she finds herself looking forward to their frequent conversations. And, as you might guess, feelings of romance begin to blossom between them.

What sets this book apart from others in the "online romance" genre? Interestingly, the whole story is set in Pakistan. So not only do you get the main story of two screen names getting to know one another, but you get a delightful taste of Pakistani culture. All this is narrated by main character Onaiza, who finds herself growing increasingly frustrated by the smooth talker's hot-and-cold demeanor and cryptic comments. Like I said, this is the first in a series, so don't go into this expecting everything to be resolved by the end. I'm looking forward to part two to find out where this unusual relationship is headed.

When reality becomes too much for a young woman, her hopes and dreams seem to be unimportant, she turns to the world of internet chat. She's allowed to speak free here. She's unhappy with the way she looks and her whole life in particular. A surprising encounter online introduces her to a man who shares his knowledge, his feelings and his thoughts regarding his opinion of Onaiza, which she takes personal. She becomes almost obsessed waiting for him to return online. They share personal secrets and she finds herself falling in love with the idea of this man. He, in turn punishes her by disappearing when she has made him mad.
This book was interesting. I won't say that I thoroughly enjoyed it but I am curious to see what happens next.

Wonderfully realized, this first book in a series is completely satisfying on its own, but I'm glad to learn there will be more.
Before Time (The Time Trilogy Book 1) follows the evolution of an Internet Romance between a young woman called Onaiza and a man online. Onaiza is a young woman that lives in a society where traditions rule and she is not allowed to freely make choices that affects her life. She also is not happy with her appearance, and 'real life' relationships. So she sinks deeper into a virtual world. There she meets a young man and they speak freely, openly and bond. So their relationship grows deeper and crosses the line to something possibly "more". But then the young man disappears and Onaiza is left hurt and confused...

I believe this is a timely read that anyone who straddles the virtual world with that of the real could understand. The story speaks of the allure to be free and whomever they wish to be, not to have restrictions and those things in society to interfere. Ms. Javed has done an excellent job of bringing that world to light and showing the evolution of a new type of love (Virtual Love) and communication that can be exhilarating and also devastating because of its fragility.

The book is well written, innovative, and intriguing to read the conversation between the two-- seeing so clearly the emotions and lines crossed.

I am thoroughly looking forward to the next book in the series and I highly recommend to those that are looking forward to a unique concept romance. The book, I believe will soon move to the status of must read for this new generation!! Awesome!
So used to being caught up in gripping suspenseful story lines when reading, this was a refreshing pace which allowed me to get adequate sleep, yet still be excited to begin reading during my next lunch break or before going to sleep the following night to see where Asher (Impassioned) and Onaiza's friendship leads.

Meeting on an online platform where identities were supposed to remain secret, soon Asher and Onaiza break the rules as they sense there is something different about the other which draws them together. However, both of them are scarred from the past and, as much as they yearn to be together, because of a promise Asher made in the past, it seems better for him to spend less online time with Onaiza, but when he's away from her, he can't get her out of his mind or his heart.

Though the characters are 20 and 26 years of age, to some degree, it seemed like a coming of age story when I think of Onaiza's character, whereas Asher seemed to be an old soul with lots of wisdom to impart.

I truly enjoyed the story and look forward to reading the second book when it becomes available.
